Welcome to my garage! The best
bit of the house (according to some). At present we have 6 cars outside,
some interesting, some positively boring. The interesting ones get their
own pages. By the way, I call it Vinnie's garage as Se7ens.net
have given me the name of Vinnie and now it seems all "car
people" know me by that name.
In no particular order we have: Subaru Outback 2.5, Ford Mondeo 1.6, Land Rover SIII Diesel 2.25, "Lotus" Seven TC (1600cc), Westfield Seven Fiat TC (2000 cc) and the Van Diemen Subaru (2200cc). |

| The Land Rover is an 1975 SIII diesel and is certainly the
slowest thing in the world! But it can be useful for moving stuff
about. Most use its been put to so far is lugging trees around the
garden. It was used as a tow vehicle for the race cars but the Outback
takes on that duty now as its more than capable and comes with
refinements like low noise and air con, oh and a decent engine.
The Mondeo is Paula's everyday workhorse. Its a 2000 year model and despite its small 1.6 engine is fair enough for its purpose. Air con is a bonus - we just need to get it recharged! The large scratches that have appeared on the side need attention too.

The Outback is the main family vehicle. I previously had a Legacy 2 litre and that was fair enough but lacked a certain amount of pulling power. The Outback, with its larger 2.5 and an automatic box, is an excellent tool for lugging all the gear around. With four wheel drive it also copes with the winter conditions quite well. I find its heavier engine makes it more prone to under-steer than the Legacy it replaced and this is unhelpful on snow or ice, but a prod of the go switch can straighten things up! |
